Service Description
Traditional academic sketching emphasizes classic painting techniques, focusing on proportion, structure, anatomy, and light and shade. Students usually start with plaster statues and still lifes, learning how to accurately capture the form and light and shadow of the object. The core of this method is strict observation and precise depiction, which is often used to develop solid basic skills. What you will learn: Observation: Still life sketching emphasizes careful observation of still life, including details such as shape, texture, light and shadow. Students need to train their keen observation. Proportion and composition: Students need to learn to accurately measure and depict the proportions of still lifes to build a balanced and harmonious overall picture. Shadow and light and shadow: Shadow and light and shadow in still life sketches are important means of expression. Students need to understand the direction, intensity, and gradient of light. Material expression: Different still lifes may have different materials, such as glass, metal, paper, etc. Students need to express the texture of these materials through the processing of lines and shadows. Line control: Sketching is usually expressed through lines. Students need to master the thickness, changes, and relationship between lines. Expressing emotions: Artists can express emotions and artistic conception through still life sketches. Students need to learn to use lines and shadows to convey emotions. Class time: 10 weeks in total, once a week, two hours each time The studio provides students with the following drawing materials free of charge: 1. Sketching pen 2. Eraser 3. Professional sketch paper 4. Drawing board and easel
